1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Coupley ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Coupley is an AI-powered couples coaching application that provides relationship guidance through text and voice conversations. The Service uses artificial intelligence trained on evidence-based therapeutic frameworks including the Gottman Method and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Create an account with accurate information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Billing

Coupley offers both free and paid subscription tiers. By subscribing to a paid plan:

  • You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
  • Refunds are handled in accordance with App Store policies

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Harass, abuse, or harm another person
  • Share content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on others' rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Use the Service for any purpose other than personal relationship coaching
  • Record or share conversations involving your partner without their consent

6. Partner Consent

When using features that involve your partner (such as the Communication Analyzer or partner linking):

  • You represent that you have obtained proper consent from your partner
  • Recording conversations requires consent from all parties in accordance with applicable laws
  • You are responsible for ensuring compliance with local recording consent laws

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Coupley and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a license to use it for providing and improving the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COUPLEY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Coupley and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
